Among the four activities of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, I chose skills- French, physical recreation- badminton, service- mentoring, and adventurous journey respectively.
In French, I learned how to read French letters and numbers, but the most difficult thing was the French grammar, which took me a lot of time to memorize. I also tried to read French poetry
In badminton, I learned many different ways to play the ball and the basic rules of badminton, among which the most difficult is the lob ball, I play the lob ball is always very high, finally through my coach pointed out my movement problems, under the coach's patient instruction, my ball skills have improved a lot, thank my coach.
In the Mentoring, I go to the primary school to help the children and teach them some English knowledge. The biggest problem is that they have a weak foundation, so I have to teach them from the beginning. Some students sleep in class and don't listen to the teacher, and I patiently admonished and guided them to study hard in class. The students are very cute, get along with each other, and are very approachable.
In the final Practice Journey, my classmates and I went to Jiaxing Botanical Garden and Fuzhi Mountain on foot, although we encountered many difficulties on the way (for example, we did not bring food to supplement energy; Students sprained their feet, etc.), but with our unremitting efforts, we overcame the difficulties and successfully reached the destination!
G8 Sophia:
During the Duke of Edinburgh, I have learned many things like how to play tennis, and how to teach people, but mostly I have learned not to give up and keep going. Doing Edinburgh this long, for many times I wanted to give up, but thinking of what I have done and learned I kept doing it, that's why it has taught me to never give up. I am very happy to do this, I had lots of fun doing it even though I wanted to give up a few times. For sure I am very impressed by what Edinburgh has given me, it has given me friendship, knowledge and many abilities. In the end I am very happy that I have joined the Edinburgh and I will go for the silver one.
G9 Zoe:
Thank you to everyone who played a part in this award. This honor isn’t just mine; it belongs to all who stood by me.
DofE has been a unique and unforgettable journey. It has greatly cherished my experience and broadened my horizons. Through this period with DofE, I have not only nurtured particular skills but also a sense of social awareness and global perspectives. The bronze award means a lot to me. It has been the greatest encouragement and motivation behind, for me to keep working on next semester, and apply for the silver award.
I'll keep on working harder.
G10: Sophia
Through this activity, I learned a lot of new skills(Like how to play tennis, how to simplify the topic to teach to lower grade students and the spirit of wilderness exploration)and met a lot of new friends.
This award is not only an encouragement to me and makes me confident ten, but also an honor.
In the future, I will continue to help others and actively learn new skills.

The Duke of Edinburgh's coordinator
As the Award Coordinator and Leader, I am utterly delighted to share my pride and admiration for our 20 students who have just achieved the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. It's hard to believe that their incredible journey began last September, when we embarked on an unforgettable expedition to Fuzhi Mountain, marking the start of their adventure.
Over the past year, these students have shown remarkable dedication, resilience, and determination as they tackled challenges in volunteering, physical recreation, skills, and expedition. They've developed a wide range of invaluable life skills, including teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and time management, which will serve them well in all aspects of their lives.
Through their experiences, they've not only achieved a prestigious award but have also made a positive impact in their communities. Their selfless volunteering has made a difference in the lives of others, and their skills development has enabled them to express their creativity and talents.
I'm thrilled to congratulate these outstanding young individuals on their achievement! Their hard work and commitment have paid off, and they should be incredibly proud of themselves. As their Award Coordinator, I've had the privilege of witnessing their growth and progress firsthand, and I'm honored to have played a part in their journey.
I have no doubt that these young achievers will go on to make a significant impact in the world. They are already equipped with the skills, confidence, and passion to take on new challenges and pursue their passions. I'm excited to see what the future holds for them!
